David Kelly: Human centred design
URL: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eXndL3TNCmo
The video is important for designers to view as it reminds designers not just to focus on technological objects. But also how technology can work with human lifes, to respond to what we really need and want. It keeps designers updated on what other designers out there are designing, what technologies do we have now.
All the design projects in the video were all very fascinating. i particularly like the "liquid crystal display" and the "magic mirror" in the dressing room. I am sure that most of us have complained about having to walk back and forth to show friends what we tried on, hoped we could see what the back looks like without twisting our necks. Here we go now, 2 very thoughtful and wonderful design that really designed to suit human's needs/wills. Also the project on attempt to design ideal office cubicles, the features in the cubicle turned boring little office workspaces into a different world. Work suddenly became more fun, more lively and more motivating. The design will definetly change manys work place into a total different atmosphere. Again, it helped to change and make humans life better.
Good designs aren't just about high technological products, but its about how one put things together and work with techonologies to make it so different.
