Upcycling

(i dont know why, but somehow the blue areas in the poster turned into orange, and the oranges turned into blue after i uploaded the poster on here.)

Anyways...

I chose to upcycle take away containers, because i found that they're everywhere and very hard to get rid of. I played with different shapes and sizes of them. And i thought i could make good use of its transparent quality by making a room divider. They are joint together by wires. It's best to hang it somewhere with sunshine.

  1. I believe this is an upcycling project that required a lot of effort and time, in which your time consuming work has reflect in a product that was original and adorable to have in a kid's room as shown in your poster. I love the fact that it creates an environment that was soft and colours that were dreamy.
Instead of using wires to link each individual container, using a clear plastic material such as Sock clips would make the produce more complete as the metal material visually clashes with the polymer material.

  2. I love your design so much.you create a room divider by using take-away container.it is really smart. For using the container,it gives us an opportunity of putting different stuff into each container.

  3. I love the use of plastic containers! they are definitely a large issue in waste disposal as they take so long to degrade. The only thing i'd like to suggest would be perhaps using something other than cardboard in some of the containers, there are so many different colourful things you could break up and fill these containers with that would look a lot better than a cardboard which tends to looks a bit dull and boring. Well Done nonetheless!

  4. The repetition of using many take away containers and combining them together makes the design looks very unique and fun looking. Although if it was to be used as blinds, wouldn't sunlight still come through the clear material which defeats the purpose of making them blinds?

  5. The geometry of your product comes across as playful and fun. The idea of using plastic containers to form a blind is brilliant although, as Glen mentioned, it would be difficult to keep out the sun [as blinds tend to do that]. I think it was a good choice of material considering how many people do end u[ with lots of take away containers.
